Driving Day 3

We’ve reached our first destination—“The Bad Lands”

But first, here’s how our day went…

We arrived in Sioux City, Iowa last night at 12:30 and left around 9:30 this morning. We drove through South Dakota all day today. It was very pretty…lots of farm/Prairie land, cows, corn, etc. About an hour after we left this morning we stopped at an RV dealer because our trailer brakes were loose. Dad and Ryan thought the problem was fixed but they still aren’t working correctly…Hopefully soon we’ll be able to figure out what the problem is. Even though we had to stop for an hour we got a nice picnic out of it! We all sat under the trees and enjoyed the scenery.

While driving along the highway dad saw lots of signs for “Corn Palace” so we decided to stop since it was right off an exit. It was an arena with lots of fun facts about corn and the outside artwork was made with all kinds of colored corn cobs. It was nice to get out of the car for a while and stretch our legs out.

We arrived in “The Bad Lands” around 6:30 tonight. It’s absolutely gorgeous out here! It’s cool outside at night but tomorrow during the day it’s going to be a high of 101! We are trying to get out early in the morning before it gets REALLY hot. We had a nice dinner outside and then went on a walk. We are all ready for a good night sleep! We gained another hour tonight! Woo hoo! But, on the other hand we’ll be losing that sleep on our way back home :(.

That’s all for now. Here are some pictures of our day! Wish I could share more but they aren't uploading very fast.
